I mentioned in the previous commentary that Part 3 would end here. I sometimes wonder if that's worth the minor spoiler. My intended goal is to have the break that comes with the end of the part not be a surprise.

The logic of why they'd want to do this, and why it doesn't really matter what form they used, will addressed in the Part 4.

I've generally pronounced Tedd's last name, Verres, similar to "there-es" (though with a "v", not a "th"). Verres is a French word for glasses, and that is not correct pronunciation. Pronouncing the "s" at all, as far as I'm aware, would be incorrect.

After twenty years, I'm sticking to the two syllable pronunciation, and there could be many explanations for it. Maybe their name isn't technically French. Maybe it is, but people consistently pronounced it that way, and the family ran with it. Maybe a cartoonist was foolish a couple decades ago and we're dealing with the consequences of that. It's a mystery.

Anyway, someway, somehow, Po mistook the last name for "Bears", and we're all just going to have to deal with that.
